The EcoShipYard (ESY) project is heading to SMM Hamburg 2026, one of the world’s leading international maritime industry events, taking place from 1–4 September 2026 at Hamburg Messe und Congress in Hamburg, Germany.
Bringing together more than 2,200 exhibitors across 12 halls and around 45,000 expected visitors, SMM provides an important international platform for exchanging knowledge, presenting innovative technologies and discussing some of the maritime sector’s key priorities, including decarbonisation, digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability.
Meet EcoShipYard across SMM 2026
Throughout the exhibition, EcoShipYard will have a visible presence across several partner booths, where colleagues from Atlantec Enterprise Solutions, LTH-Baas and Floorganise will showcase the project and its activities to the international maritime community.

Driving more sustainable shipyard operations
EcoShipYard is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project promoting sustainable shipbuilding practices and material circularity in the European Union. The project aims to reduce the environmental impact of shipyards by increasing energy efficiency and optimising operations during vessel newbuild, retrofit and scrapping activities.
Through the integration of innovative digital technologies and circular economy principles, EcoShipYard is working to improve resource efficiency and support the development of more environmentally friendly shipyard practices. Its activities include the development of a digital twin shipyard model, a Shipyard Environmental Performance Index and related KPIs, an EU Material Passport for waterborne transport assets, technical and training guidelines for shipyards, and a Living Lab cluster for testing and validating sustainable real-world solutions.
