One year since its launch, the EcoShipYard (ESY) project continues to drive innovation in sustainable shipbuilding and material circularity. As we enter a crucial phase, we are pleased to introduce the second edition of our newsletter, highlighting key advancements and collaborative efforts.

  • 2nd General Assembly in Kiel – Progress in ship lifecycle modeling, material passports, and strategies for reducing non-operational environmental impacts.
  • EcoShipYard & CirclesOfLife Workshop – Joint efforts on material traceability, circular manufacturing, and sustainable shipyard solutions.
  • Technical Advancements – Developments in shipyard environmental impact assessment, Shipyard Environmental Performance Index (SEPI), and dashboard prototypes for shipyard monitoring.
  • Future Roadmap – Next steps for addressing sustainability challenges, piloting test cases for steel and composite hulls, and refining shipyard digital tools.
