On behalf of the EcoShipYard (ESY) project, we are pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Smart, Sustainable and Green Shipbuilding (SSGS 2026), taking place on 7–8 December 2026 at the Technology & Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
SSGS 2026 will bring together researchers, shipyards, suppliers, policymakers, technology providers and other maritime stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore emerging solutions for the digitalisation, decarbonisation and lifecycle sustainability of shipbuilding.
Conference Topics
The conference will address a broad range of themes, including:
- Smart shipyards and digital transformation
- Virtual prototyping and cybersecurity
- Advanced manufacturing technologies
- Reduction of the environmental impact of shipbuilding
- Vessel life cycle assessment
- Circularity and embodied carbon
- Scope 3 emissions and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive requirements
- Industrial decarbonisation pathways
Call for Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit an abstract of 200–300 words through the conference website for consideration as an oral or poster presentation.
Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper of 4–6 pages. Accepted full papers will be published by Springer.
