Short story of Task 4.1 Definition and provision of System Services and Information Management.

CATEGORY:

The subject of WP4 is to establish a platform for the integration of sustainability assessment tools. The platform will utilize existing software applications and services, as well as key components already available with the project partners. It will provide shipyards and ship operators with better decision-making support for sustainable maritime transport.

The work starts within Task 4.1 to define the platform’s functional scope and digital twin’s scope/model. The various sources of information will be analysed, including the existing software components, shipyard models, work breakdown structure models, planning models, and material and equipment inventory.

The general goals of the Task 4.1 are:

  • Generating the specified IT platform as a backbone for the project implementation
  • Providing a set of key applications and relevant data sources
  • Forming an open system to enable accurate assessment of the environmental impact during the lifetime of the ship, focussing on the emissions during ship production, maintenance and re-cycling.

Finally, this Task will result in a description of platform services and data structures as analysed, to enable easy and efficient integration by external parties.

WP4 will be carried out in close exchange with WP2 and WP3 to determine and validate data and functional requirements. It will transfer results to WP5 for demonstration case preparations and real-world validation to demonstrate the viability of the approach.
