The EcoShipYard (ESY) project proudly participated in the 20th International Congress of the International Association of the Mediterranean (IMAM 2025), held from 28 September to 3 October 2025 in Chania, Crete, Greece. The event brought together leading researchers, engineers, and maritime professionals to explore the latest advancements in marine and maritime technology, with ESY contributing to discussions on the future of sustainable shipyard operations.
On 1 October, during Session 10.3: Shipyard Organization, ESY partners delivered two impactful presentations showcasing innovative tools and methodologies for accelerating sustainability in ship production:
- ATLANTEC — ESY Platform: Assessing and improving sustainability of ship production
Demonstrated how the ESY platform enables evidence-based decision-making across the production chain, helping shipyards monitor, benchmark, and continuously improve their environmental performance. - NTUA / EPSILON — Advancing shipyard efficiency through emissions control and LCA methodologies
Presented advanced emissions control approaches and life-cycle assessment (LCA) techniques designed to streamline operations, minimize environmental impact, and enhance overall efficiency.
These contributions reinforced ESY’s mission to embed sustainability, circularity, and efficiency at the core of shipyard practices — turning data and analysis into actionable improvements that drive greener, more competitive shipbuilding across Europe.
Our sincere thanks to ATLANTEC, NTUA, and EPSILON for their excellent presentations and to the IMAM organizers and participants for creating an inspiring environment for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
